Have you got a new puppy and not sure how to go about training? Remember all your puppy wants is attention and they don't care if it's good or bad. Ignore bad behaviour and reward good behaviour consistently.
Try watching our videos on YouTube to get an understanding of how dogs learn and what training methods are best. We believe in positive reinforcement, which means your dog gets something good happen to them for doing something you want. If they do something you don't want, you take away the good thing (in most cases taking away your attention is the best course of action).
Puppies learn slowly and will do the same thing hundreds, if not thousands of times before they understand that you don't want them to do it so be patient and consistent. If you give in every now and then they will learn that they can get away with it if they do it for long enough.
If you're struggling with any puppy issue like basic obedience, housetraining, nipping, jumping up, or anything else, contact us for help and advice. We have a puppy class in Walsall that begins every 5 weeks so you'll never have long to wait. If you prefer, we also have individual sessions where we come to your home and teach you a bespoke training program tailored to suit your needs and requirements.
